Day 3 Tonga Blog – 24 Sep 15
Up bright and early and thankyou Grant for a very enjoyable
cooked breakfast. Chilly, Steve and Phil are a little worse for wear having
partied a little too hard the night before on some very expensive malt whiskey
until 1.30am. I believe Chilly texted
Pammy more than once and there may also have been a phone call involved.
No rest for the wicked as we headed out to the school. Still
not received our stores from DHL and both Chilly and Geoff are a little peeved.
Gerry and Phil worked on the grates for the classrooms to keep the pigeons out
and that was no mean task.
The ‘tech’ boys continued with working on the roof for the
classroom, and the girls continued to paint the architraves for the boys. Mez
and John continued with the back breaking painting of the chipboard for the
boys…. Please hurry up DHL!!
Mez popped her head into the boy’s work area and had a go at
the mess that they had made of the roof she had painstakingly painted, dirty
marks and all. You should have seen Eddie’s face.
Mez popped in again and had a go at the boys that they
hadn’t achieved much since she had last checked. You should have seen Eddie’s
face…. Classic…
DHL stores finally cleared by customs. Mez and Geoff over the moon. Geoff got his badly
needed tools and Mez got the additional rollers and extension wood so that she
didn’t have to break her back painting the chipboard!
And who
measured a piece of board, cut it and then suddenly thought that he may have
cut the wrong side…. And when putting it in place, realized that he had cut it correctly
and how could he have doubted himself, hey Molly???
The girls
and John went home early to prepare for a hard days work the next day. Mez and
Rick headed into town to resupply food and beer.
So love these children
