Steve, Keith, Eddie, Geoff, Grant and the token chick, Liz
(!) worked tirelessly on the roof of the first classroom. Backbreaking work when you are constantly
working above your head. Shirley and Michelle continued with nailing the
chicken wire to the outside of the classrooms, Phil and Gerry continued with
their fitting of the security wire, and Mez and Diane remained on louvre duty,
the boys fondly referring to them as the Glass Ladies. Everyone had a job, were
part of a team and knew exactly what had to be done. Hang on…. ah yes, Chilly
was somewhere with his clip board.
A couple of Blog moments:
Steve and grant sharing a stool facing each other at lunch
time. Grant went to get up and nearly sent Steve into orbit. Gave Steve a hell
of a fright.
The girls sacrificed the ladder they were using to two of
the boys as apparently their need was greater, however when the girls asked to
use the drill for a two second job, the boys advised that they had to use it
constantly for the next 3 days.
Ed was standing on the planks in front of the T-bar which
Keith had placed to support one of the roofing sheets. Keith turned around and
moved the sheet which released the T-bar which subsequently hit Eddie square on
the head. The boy discovered what a short fuse Eddie had when Keith burst out
laughing and Eddie lost his sense of humour and gave Keith what for.
Diane spotted a group of pigs wandering across the school oval and disappear under the wire into the next paddock and then when we were working on the windows out the back, we saw this massive cow/bull. Liz got up close and personal and took the photo, but as it has a face of a cow, we weren't sure what it was, so Mez got up close and personal, and my goodness... it is a bull!
Dinner was at the Cottage Breeze and again Diane spotted the signs for the ladies and gents and I have to agree, and interesting way to differentiate between the genders.
