A leisurely start to the weekend, more leisurely for some
though. John told me that he tried to get out of bed and Shirley wouldn’t let
him. Shirley said he was dreaming.
Headed into ‘town’ to the markets to purchase Tauvala’s in
bright colors for the women and Tupenu’s which are all black for the boys. We plan
to wear them on our final day, the school puts on a bit of a concert and as is
the custom, we will wear traditional clothing. The boys love theirs and cannot
believe how comfortable they are. Phil reckons he knows why women wear skirts!
We split up into individual groups and off we went shopping.
Some went looking for a coffee, others went for morning tea and then there were
those that went to the pub. We met up at 1pm and headed down to the Tin Shed
for lunch. The reviews were varied but most enjoyed themselves.
We headed home and those who chose to go to dinner headed
out to The Billfish Bar and Restaurant. There was some serious eating with only
3 people able to finish the Juicy Lucy burger, naturally Steve was one, Chilly
was another and after Geoff dumped his in his lap and then cleared it back onto
his plate, he also finished it. Of course there were also those who took to the
dance floor and thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well.
